Chris Allard (he/they) has been a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) for over 20 years. Prior to that he had worked in both the restaurant industry and social work field, and completed an undergraduate degree in psychology. A graduate of the Canadian College of Massage & Hydrotherapy in Toronto (1998), Chris feels very fortunate to have found immense satisfaction in their chosen career.
As an RMT, Chris seeks to deliver the highest quality treatment for a diverse range of needs – customizing their approach to suit each individual while fostering a safe and comfortable environment. He is committed to lifelong learning in regards to the systemic issues that contribute to stress and its impact on individual wellbeing. His 20+ year massage practice is dedicated to providing body-neutral, anti-racist and 2SLGBTQ+/gender-inclusive massage therapy for pain and stress relief. They strive to create an experience grounded in support, equality and respect. Their massage practice is dedicated to providing an inclusive space for 2SLGBTQ+ people within an anti-racist / anti-oppressive framework.
Chris’s extensive education, knowledge and hands-on experience allow him to address a variety of health concerns ranging from: chronic or acute injuries, post- surgery healing/scar care, muscle tension, pain/discomfort, headaches/migraines, repetitive movement strains, physical & emotional stressors, pre- and post-natal massage(pregnancy), and general relaxation. Also provided are: General Swedish Massage, Myo-fascial Release Therapy (connective tissuework), Therapeutic Taping, Trigger Point Release, Hot Stone and Cupping Massage. More recently he has taken courses in pelvic health for clinical settings (an intro course followed by another specific to trans & gender diverse needs). Chris is also a member of the newly formed Gender-Affirming Care Advisory Committee, a project organized by Hamilton’s Trans Health Coalition.
Chris loves assisting each client in understanding what is going on with their body and how they can take action to improve their health. Chris is available for appointments in Guelph every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, as well as every other Friday at the Chancellors Way Medical Arts Centre (located near the corner of Stone and Edinburgh Roads). He is currently also accepting bookings at Aloft RMT on Ottawa Street in Hamilton (every Monday as well as every other Saturday), and at Blueberry Therapy in Dundas (every other Friday and Saturday).
